Guatemala's highest court ordered authorities Saturday to safeguard the inauguration of incoming president Bernardo Arevalo, an anti-graft crusader who has been targeted with legal challenges to his swearing-in in January. Uncertainty about the democratic process has sparked days of large protests in which mostly indigenous protesters used vehicles and tree branches to block key roads leading toward Mexico, El Salvador and Honduras.
