Migrants, mostly from Venezuela, remain in a shelter in Acandi, Colombia, close to the Darien Gap, a jungle shared by Colombia and Panama, before continuing their journey towards the United States in hope of a better life, on September 19, 2023. An impregnable jungle and the world's largest cocaine cartel are the terror of migrants in Colombia. The border with Panama is both a difficult dike to cross and an opportunity to make money at the expense of the American dream.
